2008 Detroit NOOD

After a long weekend with some breezy conditions, Alan Field and his team onboard USA 587 - WTF won this years detroit NOOD Regatta. There were 3 masts lost over the weekend. There was also one major collision that ripped the lower Gudgeon out of USA 202 RumBlur. Other then the broken boats, the weekend provided some fantastic downwind sailing.

1st - USA 587 - WTF -- Alan field
2nd - USA 540 - ZigZag -- Hans Brieden
3rd - USA 613 - Flying Toaster -- Mike Dow
4th - USA 533 - High Voltage -- August Hernandez
5th - USA 700 - FU -- Marc Hollerbach

Yet another Breezy Melges 24 Spring regatta in Muskegon.  It looks like Bora Gulari and Pat Drummond have this regatta all figured out.  Usually racing onboard Flyer, this year they took their 5th out of the last 6 Muskegon M24 regattas on board Dont Panic.

Sad Day for GTYC

On Wednesday 4/16/08 the Traverse City Fire chief was driving home from another fire and he saw the flames coming out of the roof at 11:30pm. We aren't sure yet what this will mean for the sailing season in Traverse City, but we will keep you posted. The board is meeting tonight to start figuring out what to do.
